David contacted me for help with applying for home modifications. Since acquiring a back injury, David and his family had made a number of temporary adjustments to the home bathroom to make it more accessible, and a portable shower had been put up in the laundry. It was time for a total bathroom renovation to make the bathroom fully functional. The biggest part of this process was in getting the design right and making a strong application for the changes. Once the application was approved, we removed the small shower, knocked through the wall to the separate toilet and altered the existing layout. Now there is a wider door frame, a vanity with clearance space placed at a suitable height and correct rails beside the toilet. There’s a large wet-room style shower with flooring level with the rest of the bathroom, proper plumbing run-off, enough room for a shower commode trolley and for support workers to assist safely. David and his family selected a stylish modern colour scheme for the non-slip tiles and the room has a bright contemporary feel.

“I couldn’t be happier with my new bathroom. It’s so much easier for me to navigate and I don’t need as much assistance now. I love the level floor and my wife loves the modern appearance.”
